Why Organic cotton?

To answer ‘why organic cotton?’ let us first tell you ‘what is organic cotton?’

Organic cotton, as the name suggests, is produced without the use of any chemicals and pesticides. It does not allow the use of GMO (genetically modified organisms) seeds too. It is difficult to understand the importance of organic cotton in our lives because we do not gobble up cotton balls like we consume organic food. The organic food that we choose to consume is directly connected to our health. Although we’re not directly affected by organic cotton but it does have positive effects on the environment we live in. Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world, including both organic and conventional cotton. Organic cotton combines traditional ways of cultivation with science, creating a biologically diverse method of farming. Most importantly it sustains the well-being of the farmers and their families. Whereas, conventional cotton is the most chemical intensive cultivation method, which not only impacts air, water and soil but also has harmful consequences on the health of the people living in cotton growing areas. Basically, it’s a disaster of our own making.

Fabrics made by using organic cotton are softer and more durable, and that’s exactly what we are inspired by. We believe soft and breathable fabrics will never go out of trend as the bliss of this fabric touching your skin is not that easy to let go. On a plus point, you’re participating in making a small initiative into a global phenomenon. On another plus point, the prices are pretty reasonable for sustainability.

Every country in the world is now beginning to embrace organic cotton farming realizing the benefits on a larger scale. But did you know India is the pioneering country of organic cotton farming initiative. Our country is the largest producer of organic cotton in the world. That means we’re also acing in promoting safe work and better livelihoods for the farmers. They are not exposed to toxic chemicals through food and water supply. There’s no better way to sustain livelihood of farmers. Healthy farmers equals healthy us.

Imagine a world that looks greener, animals and humans that look healthier. To be honest this doesn’t seem impossible at all. Let’s make the world a better place, and all we need to do is join forces to restore the ecological system. Cleaner air, water and soil are the key to a prosperous lifestyle. Undoing the damage by getting rid of commercial greed is the beginning of a sustainability revolution. We need to recreate a healthier environment by making eco-friendly choices in all walks of life because the health of our future generations depends on it.
